High in the Swiss Alps, the storied Schloss Schauenstein has reopened its doors after a thoughtful redesign marking the 20th anniversary of Andreas Caminada’s three-star Michelin restaurant. Guided by Space Copenhagen, the project reimagines the 12th-century castle as a place where history, materiality, and atmosphere meet in a refined, contemporary balance.
At the heart of this expression lies our Escape Kelim collection. Handwoven from undyed wool and shaped by a palette of soft, earthy tones, the rugs introduce a tactile stillness that echoes the surrounding alpine landscape. Woven by artisans in India using time-honoured techniques, the textures brings depth and softness to the rooms, grounding each space with a sense of calm.

The collaboration reflects a shared appreciation for thoughtful craft and honest materials. In Schloss Schauenstein, Escape Kelim becomes not just a functional surface, but part of the spatial rhythm: a gentle layer that connects contemporary design with the atmosphere of a centuries-old castle.
Across softly lit dining rooms, intimate corridors, and restored guest suites, the interiors unfold with an understated sensorial clarity. Patinated surfaces, sculptural light, and natural textures create a warm counterpoint to the castle’s heritage architecture — a setting attuned to quiet moments and slow experiences.
